June Closely monitor water needs of plants. Inspect yard plants for diseases and insects. Fertilize Bermuda Plant Crape Myrtles, Hydrangeas, Cannas and Elephant Ears. Apply post-emergent weed control.
July Closely monitor water needs of plants. Mulch azaleas and rhododendrons. Apply lime to fescue. Apply post emergent weed control .
August Closely monitor water needs of plants. Fertilize roses. Prune deadheads from flowering plants. Plant fall blooming plants
September Aerate, fertilize & over-seed Fescue. Plant winter flowers such as pansies. Add pine straw cover to flower beds .
October Aerate, fertilize & over-seed Fescue. Plant spring flowering bulbs Divide Hostas, Cast Iron, Lilies, Iris. Plant winter flowers such as snapdragons, pansies.
November Plant Rye grass over warm weather lawns. Plant Camellias, plants, trees, shrubs. Fertilize winter flowers. Prep flower beds with soil conditioner and mulch.
December Cut back perennials. Prune evergreens. Plant woody vines, trees, shrubs, bulbs, rhizomes. Prep flower beds with soil conditioner and mulch. |
