Prune trees. Apply post emergent weed control to lawn. Plant or transplant shrubs and/or trees. Prep flower beds with soil conditioner and mulch.

 

February

Prune trees & roses. Fertilize winter flowers. Apply weed control to lawn. Cut back ornamental grasses.

 

March

Reseed & fertilize Fescue. Fertilize spring flower beds. Mow warm weather grass lawns very low.

 

April

Fertilize Bermuda & Zoysia. Treat for lawn pests. Lay warm weather grass sod. Plant perennials and annuals.

 

May

Seed Zoysia, Bermuda, Centipede lawns. Fertilize Roses, Azaleas, Trees & Shrubs. Plant annuals and perennials. Mulch flower beds.

 

June

Closely monitor water needs of plants. Inspect yard plants for diseases and insects. Fertilize Bermuda Plant Crape Myrtles, Hydrangeas, Cannas and Elephant Ears. Apply post-emergent weed control.

 

July

Closely monitor water needs of plants. Mulch azaleas and rhododendrons. Apply lime to fescue. Apply post emergent weed control .

 

August

Closely monitor water needs of plants. Fertilize roses. Prune deadheads from flowering plants. Plant fall blooming plants

 

September

Aerate, fertilize & over-seed Fescue. Plant winter flowers such as pansies. Add pine straw cover to flower beds .

 

October

Aerate, fertilize & over-seed Fescue. Plant spring flowering bulbs Divide Hostas, Cast Iron, Lilies, Iris. Plant winter flowers such as snapdragons, pansies.

 

November

Plant Rye grass over warm weather lawns. Plant Camellias, plants, trees, shrubs. Fertilize winter flowers. Prep flower beds with soil conditioner and mulch.

 

December

Cut back perennials. Prune evergreens. Plant woody vines, trees, shrubs, bulbs, rhizomes. Prep flower beds with soil conditioner and mulch.
